When You Know
If it is your calling, then it will keep calling
Love, of all things to be chosen, seems to be the most unknown.
Movies, TV shows, all theatrical and dramatized, I grew up thinking love would slam into my face when I found it. Running towards the butterflies, the shaking of the body, the undeniable feeling people talk about. First sight, first touch, first anything that made your soul tingle, must be it.
What if love is quiet?
What if love is the slower burn? What if love is the whisper you miss when you’re not listening? The connection you let go of because in a world full of lust, you keep looking.
I’ll tell you this— I think love is not something you chase, but something that calls.
I think love is gentle, understanding, and forgiving. I think love is something you water, something you choose. I don’t think love is the connection that activates your nervous system; I think love is in the stillness of your being. I don’t think it is just about whether they are the one for you, but sometimes about whether you’re ready to be the one for them. I don’t think love only calls when you’re ready.
Each decision is a call you answer; you make a choice, and that choice splits in two. Almost impossible to know what would have been if you had chosen differently, unless, for some forsaken miracle, you get a second chance, a second call.
The only difference this time— is you.
When you know, you’ll love them as if it were your calling, and that love will always call back to you.

“I don’t think love is the connection that activates your nervous system; I think love is in the stillness of your being.” That line feels incredibly powerful because it reframes peace as something just as meaningful as passion. In a culture that often romanticizes anxiety, obsession, and emotional volatility, there’s something deeply grounding about describing love as a place where the body can finally soften instead of brace for impact. It shifts the conversation from intensity to safety, and that distinction really lingers after reading. As someone who is still searching for that, this really resonated! Beautiful writing! I subbed so I can read more of your work!
